Why volunteer with us?

Gia Linh Travel is a leader in the travel business in Vietnam. We are continually searching for ways to provide better service, better products and innovative ways to give our customers a better Vietnam experience. Our volunteer program opens the door to many new and exciting opportunities: the wonderful chance to know more about Vietnam, its culture and people and help those who are interested in traveling Vietnam. It is undoubtedly a great way to make new friends and learn new skills. Best of all, you can set your own schedule and time commitment in volunteering with us.

What will we want you to do?

We offer volunteering work in the following three categories. You may choose one or more areas based on your interests.

Information:

The main duty for you is to ensure that the English language on our web site is correct and to help our sales people to improve their English on the phone and in their emails. Detailed work is listed below:

A. Proofreading of articles and web pages. Review articles for

1. Correct English (grammar, spelling, vocabulary)
2. Appropriate English ( language, sentence structure, expression)
3. Content (review content, marketing focus, cultural aspects, make suggestions for additional content)

B. Supervise our evaluation project.

1. Check if English is properly/correctly used in the articles. Check if the expression is native and understandable.
2. Check for appropriate English. (marketing focus, cultural aspects, expression)
3. Give an evaluation of each article we sent to you.
4. Other suggestions you may wish to offer.

C. Provide your help on our web site community and for our travel advisors

Login in to our community and check it regularly, share your travel experience with others, help people understand Vietnam, Gia Linh Travel and let more people know about our community.

D. Collect any interesting information from around Vietnam. Suggest to us any information about Vietnam, which you think may arouse curiosity and interests among foreign travelers.

E. Collect any copyrighted photos taken in Vietnam that may of of interest to perspective travelers .

Products evaluation

Help us improve our travel products and the standard of service provided by our travel advisors and tour guides. Propose any suggestions on our products from a customer's viewpoint on the followings:

1. Our tour itineraries

2. The hotels used in our tours.

3. The food and entertainments programs offered in our tours.

4. Any other suggestions.

IT Technology

1. Assist us in developing and testing computer programs and systems.

2. Give us valued advice on our web site. Suggest how we can improve our web site from the following aspects:

3. Is our web site well laid out and easy to navigate?

4. Does it contain information to prospective clients and travelers to Vietnam?

5. Do you find the organization and content of our web site (categories, classification, labels) well through out and complete?

6. Any other suggestions to make our web site eye catching and appealing

Your commitments and our requirements

We are looking for people who are interested in Vietnam and/or love traveling, and would like to share their travel experiences and help others interested in traveling to Vietnam.

B. Required Skills:

1.  Our volunteers should possess excellent written skills, with a flair for language.

2. Be willing to pay attention to details when editing information.

3. Be willing to commit sufficient time to take on a project and to finish it in a timely manner.

4. Have access to a computer with Microsoft Word installed. Have ongoing and regular access to the Internet and basic knowledge of computer use.

Products evaluation

Have a keen sense of what foreign travelers are seeking, and prevailing trends.

Computer Technology

A, Good computer skills are essential.
B. Have experience on web site planning or other relevant areas.
C. Have good skills in common web site planning software such as Front Page, Photoshop etc.

Copy Right Agreement:

This Agreement is made between Gia Linh Travel and Gia Linh Travel Volunteers.

For valuable consideration, receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows:

The work(s) created or to be created by Gia Linh Travel volunteers - including proofreading, marketing, products evaluation, IT technology and others will become the property of Gia Linh Travel and Gia Linh Travel will be the sole owner of all rights in and hold the complete and undivided copyright in such work(s). To the extent the work(s) does/do not qualify as “work for hire” the volunteer does hereby transfer to Gia Linh Travel the entire right, title and interest in and copyright of the work(s) and any registrations and copyright applications relating thereto and any renewals and extensions thereof, and in and to all works based upon, derived from, or incorporating the work, and in and to all income, royalties, damages, claims and payments now or hereafter due or payable with respect thereto, and in and to all causes of action.

Volunteers warrant and present to Gia Linh Travel that he/she is the author or a contributing author of the work(s) and that the work(s) is/are original and has/have not been published before in any form, that it does not infringe upon any copyright of any other person and that he/she is the exclusive owner of the right herein conveyed to Gia Linh Travel.

The term" work(s) to be assigned" includes: studies, writings, articles or other materials identified above and any other materials and work products submitted for inclusion in the work(s), where such relevant materials are created as a result of the referred work or activities, reports, plans, designs, and suggestions.

In-Office Volunteer

Volunteers are required to first help us for a spell online before being considered for in-office work.

Gia Linh Travel has a limited number of places in our office in Guilin for short term volunteers with specific skills. Previously we have accepted people for a 2 month period to undertake specific projects. Volunteers usually work part time in our office for 20 hrs per week.

Volunteers who come to Hanoi are provided with a furnished air-conditioned apartment in a pleasant environment not far from our office. We pay for gas water and electricity. You have a chance to live with a Vietnamese family. Our young enthusiastic team is very welcoming and happy to include our volunteers in company events and social life.

We believe a volunteering experience with Gia Linh Travel should be fulfilling for both parties and we do our best to fulfill our part of the relationship.
