Transportation in Vietnam

Means of transportation is the subject that most of tourists consider when travelling to Vietnam or other countries. In Vietnam, tourists can choose popular means of transportation such as plane, motorbike, car and bus.

  1. Plane

Vietnam has 9 international airports of which 3 biggest ones are: Noi Bai, Danang and Tay Son Nhat international airport.

There are 5 domestic airways: Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, VietJet Air, Vasco and Air Mekong.

  1. Car

Taxi: In Vietnam, taxis are abundant, clean, polite and reasonably priced. Tourists can catch a taxi at any time and in anywhere.

For inter-provincial trip, coaches are common choice of many travellers. Vietnam coaches are of high quality, reasonable price and have safe, friendly service.

  1. Motorbike

This is the most popular mean of transportation in Vietnam. With a motorbike, tourists can be active in travelling.

  1. Motorbike taxi

Motorbike taxi is the mobile and friendly mean of transportation in Vietnam. You just need to wave your arms and bargain to have a trip without waiting and dealing with complicated formality.

  1. Train

Train would be the ideal choice if you want to admire lovely scenery during long journey. Nowadays, there are railways from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Lao Cai, Hai Phong, Quan Trieu, Dong Bang…

Railroad services has been improved considerably, notably travellers can book a ticket online since 1/1/2015.

  1. Bus

Bus is the safe, cheap and convenient mean of transportation, especially in big cities. You just have to pay 7.000 VND to travel to your destination or get around the city.

  1. Cyclo

Not only be an interesting mean of transportation, cyclo also has original cultural features. In Vietnam, cyclo often appears in tourism cities such as Hanoi, Saigon, Hoian, Dalat… Sitting in a cyclo, tourists can take photographs, film and watch stream of people walking and scenery without being in limited visibility due to looking through the car window.
