Tourist attraction sites in Hoi An

Hoi An is small but famous for many tourist attraction sites and relic of a busy harbour centuries ago.

Visiting Hoi An, you will have a chance to see some famous attractions in the ancient town and the nearby.

  1. Tourist attraction sites in Hoi An ancient town

Japanese Bridge pagoda: It is a symbol of Hoi An’s tourism, which was built in the end of 16th century. In the middle of the bridge is a temple worshiping “Huyen Thien Dai De”. It has an unique architecture, decorated with patterns which are the combination architecture of Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and the West’s.

The temple of Tran family: Located on a are of 1,500 square meters, it was built in 1802 according to the order of a big official of Tran family. It is one of the temple which still keeps its architecture undamaged in Hoi An.

Phuc Kien Assembly Hall (Fujian Assembly Hall): In the beginning, it was a small temple which worshiped “Thien Hau Thanh Mau” – the god blessed for businessmen. It gradually became gorgeous, palatial, and characterized by Chinese architecture through many times of renovation by Chinese men living in Hoi An.

Trieu Chau Assembly Hall: It was built in 1845 by Chinese men living in Trieu Chau. It was the place for men from Trieu Chau (China) in Hoi An for their communication. There are many porcelain masterpiece made by craftsmen preserved here.

Quang Dong Assembly Hall: Located at No.17 Tran Phu, it was built in 1885 for worshipping “Thien Hau Thanh Mau” and “Khong Tu”. Since 1911, it has started to worship “Quan Cong” and “Tien Hien”. It was mostly made of wood and rock with unique beauty attracting many tourists.

Quan Thang Old house: Considered as the oldest and most beautiful house in Hoi An, it was built in the end of 17th century. It is located at No.77 Tran Phu. All of its architecture was made by artists of Kim Bong carpentry village.

Tan Ky Old house: Located at No. 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tan Ky Old house was built nearly 200 years ago. It was divided into many rooms, each of which has a particular function. Its front was for trading. Its back connected to the habour – the place for goods imported into Vietnam.

The Culture & History Museum: It was founded in 1989. Nowadays, about 200 objects made of wood, porcelain, bronze, paper,… are displayed here. They reflect the stages of development of Hoi An.

Hoi An Handicraft Workshop: Located at No.9 Nguyen Thai Hoc, the workshop comprises 12 kinds of oldest traditional handicraft in Hoi An which are pottery, carpentry, waving, carving, making lanterns, embroidery, lacquer …

Thanh Ha pottery village: Derived from Thanh Hoa, it was founded in the end of 15th century. It mostly produces and sells pottery made of clay, such as: bowl, flower vase, pot,… Nowadays, it is considered as a lively museum for scientists to do research on the history and development of pottery in the South East Asia.

Cua Dai beach: It is 5 km from Hoi An ancient town with the length of 3 km, considered as one of the most beautiful, and romantic beaches in the middle of Vietnam. A long sand shore runs along a line of coconuts. It is an ideal destination for the people who love beach, and sightseeing.
