Mr. Son (Guide in the North):
Was very pleasant, gave us a lot of information, especially about Ho Chi
Minh’s history. Always helped with the luggage, and made little jokes as we
drove around. I was very happy with his willingness to help us.
Mr. Hai (Guide in the
Centre): Also very informative in regards the Cham museum, and My Son
Sanctuary. Very pleasant.
Mr. Thoai (Guide in the
South): Thoai was an excellent Guide. Helped us in every way that he could.
Willing to take our photo’s, organised our meals, (or making sure we new
what we where going to eat), helping us onto the boats. He was very
friendly, and had a ready smile.
2. Accommodation:
Army Hotel (in Hanoi): I
quite enjoyed this Hotel, it was clean, very comfortable, convenient to go
for a walk, with very helpful Staff. I think it has a lot of history. We
made good use of the Internet here, and the pool was also nice to sit
around.
Huong Hai Junk (In Ha Long
Bay): The Junk’s are certainly different. The cabin was quite comfortable,
except the bed was a little hard. None the less I had a good sleep. (perhaps
after climbing the mountain) The meals on the Junk where excellent, giving
us a good variety of Vietnamese food.
Lotus Hotel (In Hoi An):
This Hotel was extremely friendly, the rooms and beds were very comfortable,
and in a good position to be just a little bit out of the main centre.
May Hotel (In Ho Chi Minh
City): I really liked this Hotel, quite modern, central for us to walk where
ever we wanted to go. Very clean, staff where excellent, breakfasts where
catered for our liking.
Tay Do Hotel (In Can Tho):
Probably this Hotel was not quite as nice as the others. The hallways to our
room was a little dark, but it was clean. Disappointed with the breakfast.
3. Transport (Land, water and air):
The land transport was
excellent, the cars always very clean, and the drivers had very good
judgement in the heavy traffic. The boats where and experience, but I felt
safe at all times. Jet Star was on time and quite a good trip on both
occasions we flew with them.
4. Restaurants:
As I was ill for a few
days, we seemed to eat either in the Hotels or near by. In Hoi An, Mr Hai
suggested we try the Cargo Restaurant. We quite enjoyed eating there.
5. Places you visited:
The Water Puppets, very
clever and enjoyable. Ha Long Bay, an absolute joy to go and see. My Son
Sanctuary, with all it’s history is remarkable. Cu Chi tunnels where a
great experience to go into. Cao Dai Holy See was a great experience to
watch the midday ceremony. Travelling along the Mekong River, the Floating
Markets, the Fruit Orchards . There are so many highlights Mai, I shall
remember them forever.
6. Design and management of your tour:
Mai, I couldn’t fault your
design of our trip, it was well thought out, with a variety of things for us
to see, and participate in. Especially the cooking class, that was
wonderful. I thank you for ringing to check on us as we travelled through
your lovely Country.
7. Are there any recommendations or
criticisms of services, restaurants, shops, visit sites and so on that
you’ve visited on your own?
I don’t have any
criticisms of what you have done for us Mai. We did get off to a bad start
with the plane having to go back to Ho Chi Minh City, and then that BAD MAN
took my money, but that was out of your control Mai, and me being to
trusting. I learnt a lesson. Thank you once more, Mai, you never know I may
come back sometime and would certainly be in touch with you if I decide to.
