Ninh Binh tourist attractions

Ninh Binh is famous for cultural and historical relics as well as tourist attractions. Don’t ignore these places if you travel to Ninh Binh someday.

  1. Temple, pagodas:

Bai Dinh pagoda: Its area is 700 ha, located in Gia Vien commune, Ninh Binh province. Bai Dinh pagoda is considered as one of the biggest pagodas in Asia because of the biggest Buddha statue and the longest hall of Arhat statues in Asia. Besides, this is the place where many Buddha treasures are kept.

Bich Dong pagoda: Bich Dong pagoda is located on karst mountain Truong Yen, Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. It was built in 1428 and has been renovated several times. The pagoda is an ancient structure made of ironwood  and being considered as a unique pagoda in Vietnam with special location.

Phat Diem rocky church: It is a group of many Catholic churches, located in Phat Diem town, Kim Son district. Its area is about 22 ha. This church was built in 1875 under an unique architecture which is inspired by traditional pagodas in Vietnam. This is an ideal place for Christmas in Vietnam.

Hoa Lu ancient capital: Although Hoa Lu ancient capital has been under the emperor of Dinh, First Le, Ly, it still remains undamaged system of ancient houses in the city during 1000 years. This is a delicate combination of natural and artificial beauty.

  1. Tourist destinations:

Trang An: Trang An is an eco area which has been listed as a world heritage. Trang An is famous for 250-year-old karst mountains, and hundreds of valleys, and lakes.

Tam Coc – Bich Dong: Considered as “Ha Long Bay on the ground”, Tam Coc – Bich Dong has been short-listed in national heritages and world heritage by UNESCO. 3 special caves here was created by Ngo Dong river flowing through mountains.

Van Long Nature reserve: Van Long has recorded twice in Vietnam’s book of records. Travellers can try sitting on boats, watching karst mountains, or sea creatures, or trachypithecus poliocephalus.

Cuc Phuong national forest: It is not only a nature reserve area of many rare animals but also a famous archaeological site. This is the place where many ancient tools such as arrows, rocky axe-heads,… as well as the 12000-year-old caves Cistercian lived in were found out.
