How do you get to Hanoi?

Traveling to Hanoi by road

On the territory of the mainland, Vietnam shares borders with China, Laos and Cambodia. Hanoi is in the center of the North Vietnam, so if visitors come here by road, departing from the border gate between China and Vietnam is the best choice.

There are 3 biggest international border gates crossing operated by China and Vietnam, which are Mong Cai Border Gate in Quang Ninh Province, Huu Nghi Border Gate in Lang Son Province and Lao Cai Border Gate in Lao Cai Province. You can travel by bus or motorbike from those gates to Hanoi on national highway or expressway.

Visitors can go to Hanoi through international entries and exits between Laos and Vietnam including Bo Y Border Gate in Kon Tum and Cau Treo Border Gate in Ha Tinh.
