Built in 1999, it's a French colonial style building sweeping in a long curve along one side of Hanoi's magnificent Opera House, a smaller replica of Paris's Opera Garnier. It's a rare example of modern city architecture not just complementing an historic neighbour but actually enhancing it. Fortunately, the designers ignored the temptation to install large windows and thus destroy the area's architectural integrity - even so, the occasional Philistine complains because the upper floors don't have a floor to ceiling panorama despite a perfectly adequate view.

The Hilton's 269 rooms are unusually well appointed, tastefully decorated on a Vietnamese theme, and very comfortable. Fixtures, fittings and furniture are all high quality. There are two main restaurants as well as other outlets. Between them, they cover a comprehensive range of Asian and international cuisines. Standards of preparation, presentation and service are high.
The ground floor patisserie is  a delight if you're not too worried about your waistline. Even if you do over-indulge, a well-equipped health and fitness centre will burn away the extra calories. Strictly speaking, the hotel doesn't have a pool bar. However, there is a large bar immediately adjacent to both pool and health centre.

Feedback from our customers has been very positive. That, it's central location, helpful and friendly staff, careful attention to detail, and good value for money, has persuaded us to to make the Hanoi Hilton one of our few featured hotels.
