Tourists can go to these places every day by different means of transportation such as buses, motorbikes or cars. Visiting them, you have chance to directly see original handicrafts which are famous not only in Vietnam but also in the world.

- Bat Trang ceramic village
On the left bank of Red River, belonging to Gia Lam district, Bat Trang ceramic village is one of traditional villages that attracts most of tourists. It is famous for producing ceramic goods such as: bow, pot, vase,… with a long history through Nguyen, Tran, Le, Vuong, Pham dynasty.
Vehicles to Bat Trang are quite simple, you just need to catch the bus number 47 to the village and explore ceramic markets, visit families making ceramic and pottery products, and be free to create your own items made of clay with only 30.000 to 50.000 VND (about 2 dollars).
- Van Phuc silk village
Being famous for providing fine, high-quality silk products for the whole country, Van Phuc or so-called Ha Dong silk village is situated in Van Phuc town, Ha Dong district, 10 km far away from city center. Nowadays, it still stores images of traditional villages with old trees, temple, wells,… and silk-making with 1000 weaving looms, providing goods for domestic and international market.
According to historical materials, Van Phuc silk is advanced items only for royal families long time ago. Craftsmen have retained items’ value until now. When visiting Van Phuc silk village, visitors can buy authentic traditional silk designed with special patterns. Especially, the clothes material is so special that it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer when wearing.
- Dao Thuc water puppet village
Water puppet is considered the art of summer festival in Vietnam villages. Red River Delta area has 14 water puppet villages, of which Dao Thuc is famous for 300-year-history.
Dao Thuc water puppet village belongs to Dong Anh district- Hanoi, 300km away from city center in direction of Long Bien Bridge. Nowadays, Dao Thuc village has 20 people taking part in water puppet activities. This type of art use water environment for performing the puppet and hiding the artiste’s control.
- Quat Dong embroidery village
The village is 23km away from city center and belongs to Quat Dong commune, Thuong Tien, Hanoi. It produces sophisticated and refined embroidery art works which contain Vietnamese cultural values.
